Ranking Shoots

  • Archers shooting in & wishing to have their scores recorded as Ranking Shoots are to pay the Club's visitors' fee plus $1.00 to the host Club (except in listed Tournaments);
  • Scores shot in the listed tournaments will be included;

Postponement/Cancellation

Extract from ARCHERY SA Hot Weather Policy (As adopted 14th September, 2006):
  • In the event of the temperature for the day of the tournament or event being forecast, by 6:00pm on the day prior to the tournament or event as 38oC or more, the tournament or event shall be postponed or rescheduled.
  • Each competition venue shall have the necessary equipment to record ambient temperatures throughout the competition.
  • On the day of competition the ambient temperature shall be recorded at 15-minute intervals at the same location.
  • If the temperature is over 38oC for 2 consecutive measurements, shooting shall be halted until the temperature falls below 38oC.
  • In the event that a Ranking Shoot is unable to be completed, the event will not be rescheduled and scores shall only be recorded for those archers who have completed half of the event.

Clubs' Policies/Local Rules

  • At Eden, if the forecast temperature for Adelaide is 36oC or higher, shooting will commence at 2:30pm;
    If the Shepherds Hill Recreation Park is closed because of a Total Fire Ban, the event will be postponed or cancelled.
  • At Southern Vales, if the forecast temperature for Adelaide is 37oC or higher, the shoot will be cancelled.
  • At Strathalbyn, if the forecast temperature for Adelaide is 38oC or higher, the venue will be closed to shooting.
Other Clubs are encouraged to advise their policies and they will be included.
