Can I try the software before purchasing?

You can try the Palm demonstration version before you purchase.  Download the Palm Demo application, and load onto your Palm for a one month free trial.

Can I use TargetPlot for more than one shooter at a time?

With TargetPlot you can use one Palm handheld to record up to 15 different shooters/categories.  Although for practical reasons you should limit the data entry to two or three shooters at a time.

The TargetPlot Desktop software can be used to track many shooters at the same time.  Each Palm handheld will be displayed as a separate user in the desktop software.  Please note one licence is required for each Palm handheld.

How do I enter a complete competition or tournament in the Palm?

The shooting data is divided into sessions where each session can have a different distance, target face, number of shots, etc.  Start a new session for each distance, then use the Rounds screen to group the sessions into a complete competition or tournament.

You can also use the Memory buttons on the Score Sheet view to display a running total through the competition.

How much shooting data can I store on my Palm?

The Palm handheld is very efficient in storing data.  You can store many years of shooting data on your Palm.

The TargetPlot application requires 127KB of Palm handheld memory, and on average each session of shooting data will require 1.5KB of memory.

Where do I enter standard sessions?

Standard sessions can be set-up on the Palm from the Options menu.  You can also download and install preset standard sessions for Archery and for NRA.  Run the *.exe to unzip and install the files.

Can I label each shot, to track individual arrows?

Each shot can have a Label and Target number selected.  By tapping on the shot value box on the right of the Entry screen, you can select the Score, Label or Target.

To automate the Label entry, set the Preferences to "Popup List on Shot Entry".  This will popup a list of Labels or Targets after each shot is entered on the screen.

You can display the shot on screen as the Label or the Target number.  Highlight an individual Label to track that arrow in the group of shots for the session.

What other data can I track?

You can track any data, from equipment to weather conditions.  Custom Field Names can be set-up to record a tickbox, slider, or integer value.

For each session you can record a value against each custom field.  You can also enter freehand session notes using the Palm Graffiti or Keyboard.

On the PC you can select session based on these values, for example selecting all sessions when the temperature was over 35șC.

How do I send my shooting data to my coach?

To send shooting data to your coach, email the shooting data as a CSV file and your coach can import that file back into TargetPlot for review.

To Export your shooting data
  1.  Select your shooting sessions on your PC and highlight each session in the Session List box on the right.  Use the CTRL or SHIFT key to select more than one.
  2.  Under the File menu, select Export.
  3.  Click on the Export All button to select all data fields.
  4.  Then select the CSV button at the bottom.
Record where the CSV file was saved, and attach that file to the next email to your coach.
