Version History

v 2.8 - released June 2002

This version contains added functionality in the Palm software to;
   Track 7 point end changes for Beach Volleyball,
   have Rally or SideOut scoring option,
   and allow Timeout notes.

v 2.7c - released January 2002

This version is a bug fix release for the Palm software.  The problem was in selecting the player from the court, the player name displayed did not match the player button selected.

v 2.7a - released December 2001

The VollEspy software can track a complete beach or indoor volleyball match.  That includes all the skills such as pass, serve, defence, as well as spike.  The analysis software on the PC provides detailed selection and reporting of statistics.

The product name changed to VollEspy to reflect the extended functions.  This name comes from the words,
   Volley - the flight of the ball in play before striking the ground, and
   Espy - to see at a distance, catch sight of, detect.

v 1.3 - May, 1998

The Volleyball software started out under the name SpikeTracker in May 1998.  Developed at the request of the Australian volleyball coaches, the original version tracked only spike skills, showing the directions on the court, and the result of the spike.

Australian volleyball coaches found the Palm handheld to be easy to use, and a valuable tool in coaching their teams.  After a few years they requested that the software be extended to track a complete beach or indoor volleyball match.  To include all the skills such as pass, serve, defence, as well as spike.   See version 2.7a for more details.
